“News, etc” is a blog/column dedicated to writing about journalism, arts, culture and the world.

Elmer Ploetz

It is run by Elmer Ploetz, an associate professor at the State University of New York at Fredonia. He has taught journalism in the Communication Department there since 2008. Prof. Ploetz was a reporter and copy editor at The Buffalo News from 1985 to 2008 and was a reporter and editor at the Peekskill Star from 1981 to 1985.

He is a graduate of St. Bonaventure University and received his masters degree in American Studies from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
